Kaizer Chiefs facing conundrum with a number of departures.
As Kaizer Chiefs prepares for the upcoming Betway Premiership campaign, there are still alot of changes expected from the Soweto based club. With a number of senior players and young players uncertain about their futures with the club.
Thatoyane Dithlokwe’s future with the club us in doubt, as Kaizer Chiefs are contemplating loaning him out to his former team to ease the foreign quota. Dithlokwe joined Kaizer Chiefs from Supersport United he was expected to be a powerhouse in that Kaizer Chiefs defense and cement his place, however things didn’t go as planned with Thatoyane suffering a number of injuries during the season, which was the worst in the history of the Club.
As Kaizer Chiefs are set to expect new signing Inacio Miguel this week, Kaizer Chiefs will need to free some foreign quota to be able to register new foreign players. Thatoyane Dithlokwe at this stage seems like he will be a casualty with Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport United behind the scenes negotiating whether he leaves permanently or on loan.
Another Kaizer Chiefs senior player who is in the dark about his Kaizer Chiefs future, is Kaizer Chiefs Left footed centre back Edmilson Dove who mse contract was renewed for another year. Edmilson Dove initially travelled with the team for their pre season camp in Turkey, unfortunately he suffered a major injury that will see him out for atleast 4Month as he suffered an Achilles tendon.
With the injury, there have been having speculations around his future due to his foreign status, whether Kaizer Chiefs will register a foreign player who will miss half of the season through injury. SS Unlimited News has it on good authority that Kaizer Chiefs are not planning to release Edmilson Dove, but are open to the idea of not registering him until January next year. When he is fit to compete for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika is also one of the defenders, that might leave Kaizer Chiefs before the transfer window closes on the 20th of September. Zitha Kwinika joined Kaizer Chiefs from Stellenbosch FC in 2022 he had won Stellies defender of the season and player of the season. Being a former Kaizer Chiefs development player much was expected from Zitha, unfortunately being erratic has pushed him down the pecking order.
The Kaizer Chiefs defender has been tried in different roles ever since joining the Club, he has been tested at right-back and that hasn’t impacted yet. Zitha Kwinika is willing to impress Kaizer Chiefs technical team led by coach Nasreddine Nabi with the remaining few weeks before the season.
