Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on a Stellenbosch FC defender.

It has been a crazy and a busy transfer window in the PSL transfer window, with a number of teams strengthening their squads. In the meantime others are getting raided left right and centre.

SS Unlimited News has it on good authority that Stellenbosch FC are expected to lose atleast 2 more players, as a relentless Kaizer Chiefs continues to push for Stellies duo. In the past two weeks alone Stellenbosch FC has lost their team captain Deano Van Rooyen to Orlando Pirates Football Club, a move which can be seen as a weakening the Stellies football club.

Stellenbosch FC went on to lose their key striker to league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a space of three days, in what can be seen as a PSL invasion of Stellenbosch FC, SS sources reveals that the Stellenbosch FC invasion has only begun as talks for other players are ongoing.

Kaizer Chiefs want to sign Stellenbosch FC duo Fawaaz Basadien and Ismael Toure, from Stellies who finished third in the league last season while also winning the Carling Knockout Cup, this has made a number of Stellies players to be on a high profile and catch interest from the big teams in the PSL and abroad.

Ismael Toure proved to be key for Stellenbosch FC last season dominating PSL attackers with ease, Toure a duel monster with aerial prowess is seen as the perfect fit to replace, Njabulo Ngcobo and the late Luke Fluers. Toure has gained a huge profile from Marumo Gallants to Stellies making himself one of the best defenders in the league, he has been a key and consistent performer for Stellies and it’s not a surprise that a big team like Kaizer Chiefs. Is pushing for his signature to strengthen their defense.

One of the famous names this transfer window has delivered is Stellenbosch FC Left Back Fawaaz Basadien, who is heavily touted by Kaizer Chiefs and they have already seen two bids rejected by the Cape Winelands side. Basadien joined Stellenbosch FC from the now defunct Moroka Swallows in 2022, and has proven to be a key player for Steve Barker’s side, his abilities to invert and also move up and down the left wing has made him one of the most admired fullbacks in the Betway Premiership.

Kaizer Chiefs have seen a two bids rejected for his services, and are still believed to be looking at him and contemplating returning with a new offer that might entice Stellies.

It remains to be seen if Kaizer Chiefs will manage to get the deals over the line, before the Betway Premiership season kickstart, SS unlimited news also has it in good authority that Stellenbosch are interested in Dillan Solomons of Kaizer Chiefs and that interest might work in Kaizer Chiefs favour for the Fawaaz Basadien deal.
